Saturday morning, I passed Paris without any traffic jams and some ten hours later reached a very winterly Hamburg. That was it then, after four months of road-tripping through the western Mediterranean and the Iberian Peninsula, I had to re-adapt to a “normal” life. It took me a while and it was hard, but the combined six months of sabbatical were so much worth it.
It hadn´t been New Zealand, as originally planned, but Iceland in summer, Corsica and Sardinia in autumn and winter and Portugal in late winter were a very good replacement.
