Mother nature was kind and stayed active until sunset. So even a few late arrivers managed to squeeze out another half hour windsurfing session before wind and waves eventually died shortly before it got dark.
This was the end of a very nice summer day – that didn´t even see a drop of rain, by the way – but it was also the end of the brilliant weather pattern. The forecast for Saturday and Sunday was very mediocre with light to medium westerly winds and small wind-swell and it was a forecast that would not have made me coming up here all this long way from Hamburg. But as I was already here I decided to stay for the weekend and see if I could get wet a bit more.
To avoid the fierce hassling you get up here when you stay overnight outside campgrounds I drove to the Nystrup Camping in Klitmøller. They are very welcoming to windsurfers and surfers (and kiteboarders too) and offer a surfer package which includes a nice place at a lawn inside the camping with fireplaces and tables for spending warm summer nights outside plus a community house with free Wi-Fi, cooking places and nice showers, all this for a very reasonable price of 100 Kronen (about 14 Euros) per night.
