EP05-Post-Genoa-77hh

Re-energized I went for a walk along the historic city wall facing the sea and back through the historic town center which resembles more a Spanish than an Italian town, which is no wonder considering that Alghero was indeed a Spanish possession for a couple of centuries and the local dialect is still very clos to the Catalan language.

In the early afternoon I left and drove northeast. The straight of Bonifacio was my destination as the forecast promised some wind that might be enough for windsurfing here the following day. On the way up, I made another stop at Badesi in the hope that some swell would make it in here but it was flat. So, I decided to continue to Capo Testa and go for an evening walk.

I somehow can´t get enough of this place and was rewarded with some beautiful late afternoon / early evening light. Once again not a soul was roaming this fantastic area and the only other person I met was one of the hippies living in this rocky wonderland. I walked and climbed through the labyrinth of sculptures along the coastline until I reached the Valle de Luna from where I took another obscure steep path up to the highest point of the miniature mountain range.

The rocks were now rapidly changing colors with the disappearing sun and I was almost hypnotized by this spectacle. Almost in trance I walked back to the lighthouse and then in the last light of the day to the parking from where I drove to Porto Pollo where I spent the night.
