And today was the day with peak winds and swell. So, I was quite excited too and got up with dawn. The wind hadn´t reached full force yet, but the swell was pumping as I could see on a check of the now not that mini Capo. A few surfers were already out and had a couple of solid waves despite the howling side-offshore wind.

I then walked over to the Capo. Here it was Armageddon with massive waves. Only two brave kitesurfers were out in these more than challenging conditions and they would stay the only ones there for the whole day.

Windsurfers are generally long sleeper, but today they had the excuse that they needed to wait for the wind to pick up to full force. And this happened now, around noon. Pretty soon surfers abandoned the reef at Mini Capo (and many of them went out at the logging spot which was pumping now) and windsurfers took over.

Waves were logo-high and the side-offshore wind was demanding 4.0 sails. What followed was almost two hours of high performance down the line wave-sailing and some carnage too. Especially the second peak, which calls for airs but breaks very close to shore into very shallow water, claimed a couple of victims.
