The detour was a narrow and very windy and steep road up to Badesi and I was a little bit pissed having to make this strenuous drive. From Badesi the road was winding down versus the coast again and I was eager to get to the main road for quicker progress, when I spotted something from one of the narrow curves.
It looked like some decent waves breaking down at the coast. I had the chance for a second look but couldn´t stop my van on the narrow road. I nevertheless took the first possible turn versus the beach instead of following the main road.
With a little bit of excitement, I continued driving down and when I finally reached the beach I was pretty sure, that this detour was worth the effort. The wind was a light offshore and at one sandbar along the large beach refracting waves created a very nice peak. One guy with a longboard was still out and soon had a very nice ride on a shoulder-high left before he went in.
I wasted no time, parked the van, suited up, grabbed my longboard and paddled out. A surfer shack at the beach helped with finding position in the lineup. I was out there all alone and when the next set rolled in I could choose my wave. A nice ride on the left was the result. The wave did not have much power but after a steep take-off lined up very well and had a pretty long wall to work with.
