I went for a quick check. The wind had either turned a notch to the north during my short drive or local topography bends it into a more favourable direction (I still haven´t figured out the detailed weather mechanics of this area). Anyhow, it came side-shore and it was strong enough for a 5.0 sail. Still no waves though, but these should come once the wind kept blowing like this for a while.

I went out for a sail. The wide beach is divided between surfers, kiteboarders and windsurfers, each having their own section according to topography and tradition (windsurfers have been the first out here with surfers following them a little later). There are no signs or bans necessary to maintain this order, thoughtfulness and a general understanding for the needs of “the others” is sufficient. Even with the reduced parking possibilities and the resulting common launching area for surfers, windsurfers and kiteboarders the windy guys made sure not to interfere with the less manoeuvrable surfers. And the paddling guys stuck to their main section to the west.

So everybody had some fun - due to the poor waves some had probably more than others – until the wind went down in the early afternoon. The parking was completely packed at this time and in addition had turned into sort of a water sports fair. The boards lying around ranged from SUPs, longboards, hybrids and fishes for surfers, square wake-board style kite boards and surfboards with and without straps for kiteboarding, windsurf boards with old school wavesailing shapes, modern waveboards, freestyle boards and a freakish door shaped board.
