So, I kept waiting for more suitable conditions with the changing tide. Mind-surfing the shallow main break kept me entertained during my wait. I had been speculating for the left at the western tip of the headland, but it never really turned on. So, despite the visual sensations provided by the ocean I was getting impatient now. The tide was way too low for anything substantial changing anytime soon. It would be a couple of more hours of barrel / closeouts until a higher tide would give me a chance to catch some easier waves.
So, I decided to leave and check some other places. But all the optional breaks at the southeast facing parts of the Reykjanes peninsula did not get enough swell. I was getting a bit grumpy now and ready to go somewhere else. So, I drove onto the Ring Road and headed east. The beautiful light soothed my mood and once I reached the estuary in front of the Seljalandsfoss the drive within these fantastic landscapes once again became a magic experience.
