So, I hit the motorway Thursday night and drove until somewhere in mid Sjaelland, where I spent the rest of the night on a parking at one of the many fjords here. The next morning, I was greeted by sunshine and an increasing westerly wind. Time to move on. In the early afternoon I reached my destination. It was still sunny with a stiff wind but the waves here were still very small.
I did not panic as I knew that this was just the beginning and decided to go for a walk to check another break that was more exposed. The hike through the woods and along the farmland was pleasant. Due to the shelter from the wind and the still quite strong sun a T-shirt was enough to stay warm. This changed when the path finally dropped down to the coast again and I got exposed to the wind again which blew cross-onshore.
This isn´t the ideal direction for the break I was visiting and indeed the waves were very windblown. The reef is good enough to transform this into surf-able waves and an astoundingly large crowd was already out. The times when this wave was surfed by just a handful of guys bothering coming over here seemed to be over. Like always, secret breaks do not stay secret when they are good enough.
