Italian Dance Floor
During my recent trip to Italy I had the honour to witness an exquisite dance performance of a group of local longboarders around style master Alessandro Ponzanelli.
The Forecast wasn´t really excellent, with 2 – 3 ft @ 6 – 7 seconds. Lot´s of rain were to be expected, but temperatures around 10 degrees are fairly warm in comparison to where I came from. Add to this light winds, sometimes onshore, sometimes offshore. I was in the area and had a couple of days free so I went to the Viareggio / Marina de Pietrasanta / Forte dei Marmi area in the hope for a few decent waves.
It turned out quite nice, very few people in the lineup, hip to chest high waves kept in form by light offshores most of the time. The everlasting rain didn´t bother me too much with that setup and I had a few nice sessions. In between sessions I had the opportunity to watch the before mentioned dance performance.
