Black Holes
Some people were afraid, that the particle accelerators of the CERN in Genève would create black holes that could slowly but steadily swallow our earth. Most scientists called this idea absurd.
I´m afraid they have to reconsider and double check their calculations. Because what happened in the North Atlantic between January 20th and the 30th is really strange (and it doesn´t seem to be over yet). A series of hefty lows, some of them going as far down as 928 mbar, raced across the pond and created extremely strong winds with resulting swell of ridiculous heights. Forecasters ran out of colours and had to use purple, grey and black to mark these bizarre wave heights. And these black holes popped up every few days on the forecast maps.
