We had another very pleasant sailing session. Back at the beach a couple of locals on a Jeep approached us. They had been watching us sailing and asked if we would sell some of our boards ´cause they were windsurfers too and lacked actual equipment. We couldn´t sell any of our stuff, because we needed it for the upcoming months of our trip. We had a long and pleasant talk – it once again paid off that my Spanish was very good at that time – and at the end Francesco, one of the locals invited us to stay a few days in his house. We gladly jumped on the opportunity to change the claustrophobia of two guys sleeping in a small van cramped with windsurf and other equipment.
To celebrate this luxury we went to Progreso and had dinner at the La “Perilla Mexicana”, a restaurant who´s patron obviously loved heavy metal. The music was loud and the food was excellent and we had a good evening before we returned to Francesco’s house.
That house was situated right at the beach. We had breakfast on the roof terrace and when around noon the wind kicked in promptly, we immediately went out sailing. Later in the day the wind backed off and we gave the locals a water starting lesson. In the early evening the wind blew harder again, we had another blast windsurfing with 4.2 sails. At sunset the actual good life became almost too much, when two local chicas joined us at the beach, playing guitars and singing siren songs..
