Playa Jobos was the perfect base camp. It had waves with the tiniest swells, with the point at the rock forming a pretty long right and another reef a bit further west creating shorter but still nice rights and lefts. During the windless mornings you could have very nice surf sessions with the easy entry to the lineup of the point the icing on the cake. You just had to walk to the headland, time the sets correctly and jump right into the take-off zone. It sure got crowded pretty often but the locals were always nice especially when you talked to them in Spanish.

Around noon usually the trade winds kicked in with forces from 4 to 6, blowing perfectly side-shore. This brought really nice windsurfing conditions, good for jumping and wave-riding alike. Especially the point gave me numerous long down the line rides here and the many sessions with most of the time no one else out brought my wave-sailing skills to a new level.

Situated not far from Isabela the beach was a popular venue for the locals and therefor had an excellent infrastructure of bars and small restaurants. And if you had the need for some solitude a little walk to the west or east brought you to less populated beaches of stunning beauty.

The only down side of the place was, that it couldn´t handle any swells bigger than two meters. Wave faces up to 3 meters were just still manageable, anything bigger became pure survival. But for these swells we had Shacks not far away.
