Monday morning it was rainy, windless and the pond was flat. I went for a cruise further north to see which of the many peninsulas, headlands and beaches of the area might be worth a visit next time.
I drove to the first offshoots of the rock archipelagos and found a nice beach there. Looked like a popular one and with better weather probably would have been full with people. At the least the beach infrastructure seemed to be complete. A little walk around the headland revealed a nice little bay and more beaches.
Meanwhile a medium strong south-east wind was blowing. I considered going windsurfing or heading back to the Baltic Sea coast for a possible surf. But according to the forecasts the south-east wind was very local so I decided to take it easy and hang around in the area a little bit longer.
On the way back south the rain stopped and the sun appeared once in a while. I made another detour and took my time to cruise along all the narrow roads on another peninsula. I stumbled upon some nice towns and a few interesting reef setups. The most promising was marked with a WW2 bunker. Military planners of that time must have had a knack for powerful waves as so many good surf spots in Europe have these concrete huts overlooking the lineup. I mind-marked this place and placed it very high on the “to go” list for my next visit.
