After a couple of more metres through narrow streets I reached the harbour and had a wider view on the sea. Turned out that there was another wave breaking to the right. But both breaks were just in front of the harbour wall and broke pretty close to it and a bit wicked. The headland to the left and the cliff to the right were just vertical walls and created a weird backwash.  Maybe a lower tide could transform the reefs into something producing better surf-able, maybe not. You never know here, reefs and tides need particular specific combinations to become creative.

To get a better overview I hiked up another street that led to a path up to the cliff edge and the coastal path. This path follows the coast mostly right at the cliffs edge and I used it to walk further south on top of the cliffs. These cliffs consist of a mix of earth and fragile rock and are very unstable. Every storm swell gnaws at this ground and takes away chunky bits. In consequence erosion is strong here and often huge parts of the cliffs collapse.

The coastal path follows the cliff edge with a little distance and you should be careful when leaving the path to the edge. Often there is already cracks in the earth signalling that this part of the cliff will soon be gone. Sometimes the cliff edges are hanging over a deep void and better should not be trusted.
