A little bit of communication or a rotating system would have helped a lot. But with all the wave-starved souls out there this seemed to be impossible and the result were plenty of drop-ins and plenty of wasted waves.
I decided not to join the madness and took a few photos in the now beautiful late afternoon light before I returned to my basecamp. The wind was forecasted to stay pretty strong and turn further to the needed direction in the night. The points would fire again during the night but this time there was a chance for some leftovers early the next morning before the wind would turn back the wrong direction.
I went to bed early and had a good sleep with whistling winds and crushing waves as acoustic background.
The next morning, I got up very early and had a quick coffee while watching my indicator point. It looked good and so I hurried to my favourite location.
At the parking I did not dare to waste time for the walk necessary to check the conditions. I got straight into my wetsuit, grabbed my board and walked over meadows and through woods down to the beach. There I was greeted by a rain squall and gusts of wind. Side-offshore winds.
