As there were only about two more hours of daylight left I drove straight to the coast that got the current wind full onshore. Heavy rain squalls were accompanying my path and when I finally reached the fancy town at the other coast I drove straight up to the hotel above the little bay to get a first overview. It looked nasty. Grey sky, some more rain, a chilly onshore wind and chaotic but well sized mush hit the rocky shores.

But a few diehard surfers were out, most of them at the almost sheltered reef inside the harbour and one brave heart at the point further outside but still very close to a very rocky shore.

All in all, it did not look too inviting from up here but the rain had stopped and the sky cleared up a bit so I went down to the harbour. The perspective was better from here and at least some waves lined up properly and hit the reef at a good angle.

Still, the majority of the waves either closed out or wobbled along the reef without managing to create some sort of workable shoulder. But the wind started to turn a notch clockwise, which fitted to the forecast and which was good news for this reef (and for my favoured reefs too by the way).
