The point was the first destination I checked. The tide was too low. Hmm, where should I go next? The other secluded bay might be an option but it needed a bit more tide. As the weather was still fine and the drive passes some nice landscapes I decided to go. The first look from above was promising. But further down the reality was disappointing.

The scars are really fickle here and it seems to be a science by itself to figure out the exact wind, swell and tide conditions necessary to get some decent waves here.

I was not sure what to do now. There were about two and a half hours of daylight left. The wind was still pretty strong blowing from the north. So, some protection was needed. Options were the point down south that I had checked earlier the day and the northern end of the Whitby bay. Scarborough South bay would also still work, but I had seen enough of this place today.

So, I decided to drive north and have a check from the cliffs at the southern outskirts of Whitby. On the way, I made another quick stop at the ancient graveyard just above Robin Hood Bay. I had visited this place a couple of times but am still fascinated by its aura. Today it was even possible to enter the church. I spent a quarter of an hour here before I headed further north.
