I spent about an hour here before I drove to the airport in Nice to pick up my wife. That done we drove straight to Gigaro near St. Tropez where we would spend the following seven days.

Monday morning I went to a dentist. He scanned my jaw with a pistol-like X-ray machine that must have been from the seventies from the past century. He couldn´t find a particular reason for my infection and gave me a prescription for some antibiotics. At least the doctor was cheap – 37 Euros – and the medicaments costed 7 Euros. France is nice to sick people. Three days later I started to feel better and was hungry for a surf. A medium strong easterly wind blew from Italy and pushed in a tiny 2 to 3 ft @ 6 seconds swell. Local winds were forecasted to be very light.

So I drove to Saint Aygulf, the spot where I had my best surf sessions in this area. The waves were far from being good, just sloppy hip high things but the wind was light and it was sunny and warm and I paddled out with the longboard for a quick session. At least I got wet.

The weather stayed fine but the waves were nonexistent the following days. Sunday and Monday had some promising forecasts with a 3 to 4 ft. at 6 seconds windswell from the east. Yes, this is a promising forecast for this area.
