The rain increased rapidly and did not stop during the night. It intensified into heavy rain showers at dawn. I got soaking wet by just spending a few minutes out for a morning piss and a quick check of what was going on at sea.

First thing I spotted out at sea was a large cruising ship getting towed into a nearby harbor. There was also some movement on the surface of the Med visible. Swell was there, it was just not possible to judge its size as the waves splashed against the steep cliffs of the area. Next remarkable thing: the rain drops were driven in direction to the sea. The wind was offshore despite howling onshore as forecasted.

I had a quick coffee and left the parking. Getting out of here was a task by itself as the parking ticked that you get after paying is made from very thin paper and after just a few seconds of trying to insert it into the machine that opens the barrier at the entrance it got soaking wet and soft and was impossible to insert into the slot. I couldn´t get out of the parking. Luckily the building for the parking guardian was already occupied and the guy opened the barrier from his control panel.

On the road the windscreen wipers barely managed to create some visibility in the heavy rain. When I entered the first tunnel a river of water was running through it but my trusty Iveco easily handled the drive against the rushing stream. Driving through this deluge demanded my full concentration and I could barely throw a glimpse on the ocean during the drive.
