I went for a walk to check how the other bay was doing. Here too a lot of water was moving. In front of the point a right and, a bit further south, a left were working. But these waves were far from the full potential of this break, a bit shifty, not entirely clean but at least with a workable shoulder.
To sum things up: a lot of paddling and waiting was required with big but nevertheless just ok waves as reward. This would very likely improve during the day as the swell was due to last until the evening and the wind was forecasted to stay offshore. But I had just another hour before I had to leave to get to the airport in Rennes.
The Crozon peninsula is one of my absolute favourite places in Europe, not just for the waves but also for the wild coast and the little cultural gems like the menhirs, the calvaires and the villages with the typical stone-wall houses.
I hadn´t been here for quite a while and was a bit struck by the apparent (further) decline the economic situation here. I had the impression that the population and the number of small businesses here was shrinking and buildings were getting a bit shabby.
