With sunset I drove over to the Pointe de Dinan and went for a little walk around the tip of the peninsula. I was too late for a spectacular sunset light show but the cliffs, coves and rocky headlands (once again) impressed me despite the fading light. This place is a magic place.

The swell was supposed to get pretty big the next day and the wind was forecasted to be a light breeze from the east. I decided to have another look at the Baye de Douarnenez the other day and drove back to Pentrez to spend the night there. Against my usual habit, I checked into one of the campgrounds that line up from the town to the peninsula further east. To my big surprise, I just had to pay 7,70 € for the night here. The campground had nice lawns to park the van and the usual facilities (showers, toilets). No need to camp somewhere in the wild or pay for one of these camping car overnight parkings when getting it that comfortable for a fee like this.

Thursday morning I got up at seven only to find out that it was still pitch black dark. Due to the very westerly location sunrise is late here at around 8 o´ clock in late autumn. So I had time for a decent breakfast before I left the campground in the first light of a windless morning to check the beaches right in front of the campground. The sea was an oily glass and small lines were coming out of the morning fog.
