I had done mine and went for a walk again. Sometimes it´s better to wait a bit longer. And as I said before, the area is really beautiful, with rolling hills inland, interrupted by the odd canyon and the coast a mix of steep cliffs and small sandy bays. But the beauty of the area and the laissez-faire handling of people camping in the wild obviously had its downsides, as there were neat handmade signs reminding people not to leave toilet paper in the wild.

Returning from my walk I noticed that the tide had risen and with it the size of the breaking waves. But size doesn´t always matter, as these waves were standing up but resisted to start really breaking until the last moment. Catching these waves was already hard work in combination with good wave judgment (and a bit of luck) and riding them required a lot of pumping and finally an exit in time at the shorebreak.

I left to see if some other places would offer better surf. On the way up the bumpy road I met a couple of more vans coming down which reassured me in my decision to leave. When I finally reached the paved road, I followed a sign with another familiar sounding name on it. I thought I had heard people talking about this place very enthusiastically.
