I got up early again and walked to the main square to have breakfast in the Pasteleria. Galao and Natas got my systems running and soon afterwards I was down at the lighthouse again. A strong side-offshore wind was blowing into what was left from the swell of the winter (at least so far).
One lonely guy was out towing into a couple of waves before they left the shrinking swell and increasing wind. The leftover waves and their rides formerly would have excited me, but after the experience of the past two days the benchmarks had significantly changed. It seemed mediocre at best and not worth spending more time watching.
So, I left and drove back to the Peniche area with the obvious first stop at Supertubos. The wind was a stiff side-offshore here and the “leftover” swell met the sandbars in a good direction. Actually, the result was a pretty good Supertubos day with the spot very much justifying its name.
