After about an hour of driving through rural areas I reached the beach, parked and found the recommended cove after a little walk. The wind was light onshore and there was still some swell out there, but the waves in the cove were pathetic. The tide was obviously still too high and I walked a bit more and enjoyed the sun and the beautiful scenery. After a while some other surfers came walking across the cattle and I returned to the cove. A boogie border was the first one out, soon followed by a surfer. Both of them didn´t score decent waves as they still had no form and just produced one move rides. Later I found out that this beach had also suffered from the epic winter of 2013 / 2014 with countless massive swells and constant offshores which meant almost no rain and therefor no replacement of sand to the eroded beaches.

Despite the stunning landscapes here I decided not to paddle out and drove back to Laredo. There the swell was much smaller than in the morning and the tide still too low. I waited some time until it rose enough and then paddled out into the tiny waves.

I was here anyhow and the sun was shining and the wind had dropped to zero and I was alone and just enjoyed this definitely unspectacular session. But the sun was warming my back and once in a while glassy hip high peelers appeared. Seemed like a good way to finish my stay here as now I had to start the long drive back into the north of Europe.
