From my last visit I faintly remembered that the hike takes about 4 hours up and down including awe-time for the views, so I still had enough time for the hike before it got dark. I nevertheless did not waste any time, got into my climbing boots and started the ascent. Proper boots are essential for this hike, as it leads mostly over rocks which get slippery when wet, as one of the hikers coming back down painfully realised when harshly landing on his back on solid rock. He only had light hiking boots and open shoelaces and slipped. Later >I heard that somebody else broke her arm on the way down.
The climb isn´t really difficult but steep and often uneven and the combination of tiredness and - way too often – unsuitable footwear regularly leads to people getting injured on the last part of the way back down. Anyway, the ration of people going up to people coming down was about 1 to 20 and I had a good chance getting to experience the stunning mountain nature without overcrowding dimming the joy too much.
