Me(d)thadone

If you have the opportunity to take four months off in late autumn and early winter (and canīt fly overseas) the first choice would probably the classic trek down south along the European and North African Atlantic coast. It was my first thought too but then I decided I wanted to do something different and have a closer look at the Mediterranean Sea to find out if it was capable to sooth the addiction to surf as good as the Atlantic Ocean does.

The results of this self-experiment are presented in the following episodes:

EP01 Brigitte donīt surf

The somewhat slow start of the Mediterranean adventure.

EP01-Brigitte-000x

EP02 – Dolce Vita

The forecast showed another short Mistral period and I had hopes to catch some waves at the Tuscan coast.

EP02-Dolce-Vita-000x

EP04(a) Genoa Low - the build up

features some astounding waves on Sardinia in the build up of a mighty Genoa low.

EP04a-Genoa-Low-000x

EP04(b) Genoa Low – the peak

The peak of the low delivered two days of world-class windsurfing and an hour of pretty good Pipeline imitation on Sardinia.

EP04b-Genoa-Low-000x

EP04(c) Genoa Low – the aftermath

features a day of surf in the Med that would have been an excellent day of surf in any “real” ocean too.

EP04c-Genoa-Low-000x2

EP05 Post Genoa – the days after the storm

EP05-Post-Genoa-000x
