Wednesday, January 10th began with a clear and cold morning. The grey weather was finally over. I had packed the van the past night and left early, heading west. The Atlantic was the destination, but on the way, I would make a last stop at the Mediterranean Sea. The forecast was looking good for the coast west of Toulon.
I drove to one of the larger and better accessible bays of the area and parked at the southern part of the beach promenade (the other parts arenīt accessible with my van due to the for the region notorious height restriction bars). A light south-westerly wind was blowing and some 1.5m waves were breaking. I didnīt waste much time and paddled out to a good looking and little populated peak.
The waves were weak but had some nice longboard lefts at this peak. I had some fun rides at the beginning but soon got too tired paddling against a current dragging me into a zone where no good waves were breaking. I still was handicapped by a chronic little fatigue and decided not to run my energy levels completely down yet. The day was still young.
