EP13-tarte-01h

December 20th, I headed back south via the Brenner pass and reached our holiday house in the Saint Tropez area shortly after midnight. It was a very clear night and very cold for the area, with air temperatures below zero.

The following days were dominated by the for this time of the year in this area typical calm weather with cool to cold nights and mostly sunny days. Wind and waves were non-existent bar one windy day at the Toulon area which allowed me a – very mediocre – windsurfing session at Almanarre. I spent the year´s end with working on renovating the house, a few mountainbike tours in the surrounding hills and some excursions to Saint Tropez and the beaches in the vicinity with my wife and daughter.

January 5th the ladies left and from then on the Mediterranean Sea became more active again (I deny that there is any correlation, hopefully). An easterly wind was kicking in, together with grey skies and rain and allowed me a unspectacular but nice windsurfing session in the Saint Tropez bay.
