Waves were still messed up by the onshore, but the coastline was looking interesting and I mind-marked the area for another check during more favourable wind conditions. There was so much more to explore surf-wise along the west-facing coast of the island!
But I now had done enough exploration and sightseeing and needed a surf, so I turned round and headed back south. Still in town I pulled into a gas station to fuel up, but the self-service terminal didn´t accept my credit card. I had no other choice than heading onto the main road and south in the hope that there was enough diesel left in the tank to make it to the next major town. On the windy inland road, I realized that I was dangerously low on diesel and urgently needed a gas station. My hope was that I would find one at the next bigger town Cuglieri.
But along the main road which bypasses the old town there was none, so I left the main road and dove into the narrow alleys of the town centre and after a while found one of these traditional gas stations consisting of two petrol pumps just besides the road. The little shack for the attendant was closed but to my big relieve there was a terminal for self-service.
