Had I been more or less alone at this beach in the beginning, now the parking was filling up. Apparently, every surfer in the area had moved over here too and was waiting for the offshore to deliver. But the days are short this time of the year and soon more and more lost patience and paddled out. At least the swell had enough juice, and the reefs were reliable as ever.

The weather stayed nasty, reminding me more of my northern latitude North Sea backyards than the – often apt - turquoise Mediterranean Sea image. The swell never really cleaned up until it got dark, but the bay nevertheless had again shown what it is capable to make out of a decent swell. And as the forecast for the upcoming Sunday still looked very good, this was good news.

But before Sunday comes Saturday and the wind was supposed to turn west again and blow all day. Air temperatures were forecasted to stay in the single digits. Winter was obviously on the doorstep. I made myself a huge pot of noodles to be prepared for another long and cold night.
