Wednesday, November 29th
As predicted the day started grey, cold and rainy. I didn´t felt like surfing and decided to do a bit of driving and explore the vicinity and headed north. After a while I came into a town at a small bay framed by some oddly formed cliffs and a few tiny islands. There was almost no wind and I felt tempted to abandon my non-surfing plans and paddle out.
A small swell was running and the reef protecting the bay from the open sea seemed to turn the small waves into something ride-able with even a hint of pointbreak potential. I parked the van and walked along the coast road to get a better idea of what was going on here.
Turned out that the swell was too small to kick that point-like reef ridge into life and the waves were only really breaking on the upper part of the reef in what seemed to be very shallow water. A longer lonely paddle out in the cold to this unknown territory deemed me too much hassle for too little reward and I ditched the idea of surfing here. At least for now, as the place had some potential.
