I have never been here during peak summer tourist season and therefore have no idea what this place is like then. Judging from the decrepit state of the many holiday houses and other buildings it is hard to imagine this place buzzing with happy sun-seeking tourists during holiday season. But then not much is needed to kick places like Su Pallosu alive. Put up some parasols, pull up the roller blinds, switch on the fridges and heat the restaurant ovens and nobody will bother about flaking colours on the facades and the odd leak in the roof.
Now that little settlement was deserted, and the small fishing boats anchored in the sheltered bay or beached on the small strip of sand between the sea and the marshlands looked abandoned. It could have been a depressing view, but the light was beautiful and gave the scenery some eerie magic.
The swell had further dropped now, and the wind turned onshore. The weather forecast was poor for the upcoming days, but there was something on the forecasting horizon and I decided to stay in the area.
