Monday morning was overcast and cool to almost cold. Winter was clearly approaching. I went to “my” bar and had breakfast. The wind was a light westerly and onshore at the Mini Capo reef. Waves were in the 1 to 1.5 meter range here which meant the reef was working pretty well. I paddled out at the point just left of the reef. Due to the minor swell size the waves from the reef were not connecting to that point which made it a separate break.

On take off the wave is quite sucky here but breaks with a nice long wall until it vanishes once it wrapped to far around the headland. The wave is quite popular with longboarders and has significantly more juice than the logger-heaven break down at Mandriola. I had to join the lineup with just a handful of other surfers and a pretty decent session.

I was still a bit groggy but styed out until the late morning, when the sun finally appeared in between holes at the cloudy sky. The wind started to increase again and it was time for a break. Once wrapped in dry and warm clothes again I walked up to the cape. Waves were between 1.5 and 2 meters here with the occasional bigger set. After a while it got almost windy enough to consider a windsurf session.
