The bigger building can be entered through a door opening from where you get into a beautifully shaped inner chamber. Inside a building a spiraling staircase leads up to another smaller chamber and in the end to the remnants of the third floor on top of the building. Amazing stuff that people have built 3,000 years ago.
But now it was time to head back to the coast. Bosa was my next destination, a town that I also had visited a decade ago but was worth another visit. So, after another 20 minutes on the bumpy motorway I took the exit and drove west along the Planargia altiplano. Once in a while another nuraghe appeared on the hills besides the road in a mostly rural landscape. At the end of the altiplano the road drops down for a short but steep and windy descent. After the last U-turn one has a stunning view on the town and the valley but has to concentrate on the still windy road for a couple of more minutes until it reaches the outskirts of the town.
Following the main road and the signs to the city center I got to the old stone bridge leading to the historic town and parked my van near the river. The view from the bridge over the river to the old town center hanging at the steep hill and the castle above alone was worth this repeated visit.
