The wind was offshore here too and picked up with the rising sun. But despite regularly getting very stiff for half hours – it stayed a constant up and down during the whole day – the wind did not hinder the swell to make the 90 degrees turn necessary to reach the breaks in the bay. The result was a pretty accurate “Pipeline” imitation performed by the Mini Capo reef.

The crowd became very “Pipe-ish” too. Besides the lack of board shorts in favour of plenty of neoprene the only other difference to the Pacific North Shore gem was the fact, that the right was way better than the left.

Ok, these Pipe comparisons are way overused, lets just state that a very good right and a less consistent but once in a while also very good left were breaking above the reef. The point further to the right was also working as was the point further left and the Logg spot down at Mandriola.

So there were quite a few alternatives o offer but the main reef was the favourite of most surfers.
