Especially the goofy-footer had to take quite a few on the head with one endless set sweeping him all the 500 meters down to the southern end of the bay where he ended in front of the cliffs and had to do a gruelling paddle marathon to get back out. But that guy was obviously very fit and after about 15 minutes of paddling and duck-diving was back in position.

Around noon the wind had completely died. A less brutal reef at the northern headland was working quite well now and a few surfers were out catching the odd decent running left. First thing I did there was get into the bar at Mandriola to have some very late breakfast. From the terrace of this bar I had a perfect view on the logging spot in front of the bar and could check the “Mini Cape” in the distance. The swell made it all the way around the peninsula and brought waves to both spots, with the “Mini Cape” being very crowded (which was no wonder as it was a Saturday). So I decided to paddle out at the Logging spot and had a very nice longboard session.
