In front of the rocky island the swell hit the reef and was transformed into the left, that turned out to be a slab at the take-off which offered a longer rip-able wall once in a while, given that you survived the first section. The right was breaking less often but then was running fast and all the long way through the northern part of the bay.
But the goofy-footer preferred to battle the slab. He did this alone for a long time until finally another surfer paddled out, positioning himself for the right. On his second attempt he caught a solid right, made the steep take-off, almost pulled into the tube of the first section, gained speed and raced along the middle section before pulling in at the end section.
This was a solid ride all across the southern part of the bay and covering a distance of about 300 meters. This was nothing you would expect to see at the Med.
Some sets were breaking far outside but never closed out neither on the right nor at the left. The reef seems to be capable to hold quite everything the Med has to offer. Still, if you are too far inside during sets like these heavy beatings will be the result.
