But that relieve didnīt last long as the motorway pavement obviously hadnīt been renewed since my last visit more than ten years ago. The potholes were huge and many and the drive was a nightmare for the next 50 kilometres before it good a little bit better. But I survived it and with the help of my smart Telephone found my destination at the Sinis peninsula, where I parked my van at a parking just outside town and spent the night.

Saturday, Nov. 11th

A friend had alerted me on a severe weather warning for the central med caused by a massive Genoa low. This Genoa low was the reason I left Corsica after just a couple of days. Air temperatures for northern Corsica had been forecasted to be very low single digits (centigrade) and the whole west coast would be battered by heave north-westerly winds.

Sardinia was supposed to get some wind too, but the direction would be perfect for windsurfing at the Sinis peninsula. In addition, there were at least three days of solid swell to be expected, with Saturday having still calm, sunny and fairly warm weather. Air temperatures here should be about 10 degrees higher than in Corsica. The whole package looked a lot more pleasant and with a bit of luck I would be offered some excellent surf- and windsurfing sessions.
