The swell showed no intention to drop and the wind became lighter and turned a bit more east, while the few remaining clouds couldn´t hinder the sun to make this a very nice late autumn day at the beach. Peaks stayed shifting at the beachbreak and surfing them remained mainly a physical exercise, but with the odd reward.
Very late in the day I suddenly saw some figures further out close to the rocky headland and the southern side of the bay. I walked over to have a closer look and as soon as I reached the cliffs realized that I had missed out on a much better break all day long. Out at the reef solid waves were breaking with set waves still ranging in the solid overhead category.
It was mainly rights, starting with a slabby section becoming a very rippanle wall and with luck connecting with another shallow part of the reef and thus becoming a very long righthander. Four guys were out sharing the remaining set waves of the dropping swell and giving me an idea of what I had missed during the day despite being so close.
