The waves broke in front of a farm, means this was private land. Access to the wave therefore could be difficult. Si I decided to continue my drive, wondering if the owner of the farm had any idea how lucky he / she was. My hopes now were on Djupivogur, the place that I had checked during my earlier days in the area. I was hoping that the swell would reach that black sand beach.
So, I hurried to get there, drove down to the end of the air strip and walked across the dune to see what´s going on here. There was nothing. Obviously, the beach was too protected to really receive waves from this small swell.
This had been my last chance for a surf during this day. It shouldn´t happen. But the swell was forecasted to last the following day with very little wind. I knew where to go for that and continued my drive down south for a little bit longer to get closer to my selected beach.
About half an hour additional drive before that beach I stopped to stay for the night. It had started to rain and the wind was onshore but there was some movement out at sea. I went to sleep and sent a little prayer for suitable weather conditions for the next day.
