Back at the point a couple of more surfers had arrived at the parking. The first view on the point revealed: it had even got bigger but also cleaner and now was really excellent pointbreak surf (If you had the skills).

The first set I witnessed was double overhead and two guys took off on consecutive waves for a fast and long run down the line. That would be a good show to watch and I went to get my camera equipment to document some of it.

The lineup was filling up now with maximum 10 guys out, locals and some foreign surfers. Some of them did not belong out there and in the end, it was four guys who really manged to surf these waves. Amongst them was – as I later was told – the guy who pioneered surfing in Iceland and is praised to be the first local surfer.

He wasn´t surfing that progressive but clearly knew what he was doing, catching set-waves, always in perfect position and surfing them smoothly all the way down to bay before seemingly effortlessly paddling back to the lineup.

The swell peaked now with some massive sets but very few of them were ridden as surfers had a very hard time to get into position and often got cleaned up heavily by set-waves.
