Then I saw a figure coming out of the shadows and approaching me. It was a woman in a police uniform. She was utterly beautiful albeit in a completely different way from the one with the dogs. Another goddess? The part of my brain that still stuck to rationalism whispered “bullshit” but I stayed suspicious. The woman politely but vigorously told me that I had entered private ground and that what I had done there was illegal. I awkwardly apologised and tried to excuse myself by pointing out that I was a bit sick. She then asked me if I was a tourist which I affirmed. She relaxed a bit and I got away with an admonition.

But now I had had enough strange encounters and hurried back to the campground and into my van. Inside I switched on the light, but nothing happened. I suspected that one of the fuses was broken and decided to sort this out the next day. It was time to get to sleep and recover from this eventful and strange day.

Friday, July 14th

I woke to a dry and mild morning with some sunny moments. After breakfast I checked the usual suspect fuses to see why the light wasn´t working. The fuses protecting the cables from my additional storage batteries were ok. Obviously, the batteries were completely empty. I had kept the fridge running on the Faroe Islands nonstop, assuming that the solar panel and in addition the battery loading during driving would prevent enough energy. I needed to sort this problem out.
