In the end it was just a few minutes until it started to rain. When I reached the tin-roofed abandoned farmhouse I was already soaking wet and it started to get cold too. As cycling kept me warm I didnīt get my rain jacket out of the backpack and just continued to pedal until I reached the first of the two car graveyards.

Here I stopped to take some quick pictures and then continued until I reached the next junkyard. Fascinated by the scenery of these old cars and trucks and buses within this otherwise deserted landscape I stopped again for some closer inspection. As I was getting increasingly cold ai only stayed for a couple of minutes before returning to my bike.

But now I realized that my rear tire was almost flat and constantly losing air. I had to get off the bike and push it. I concentrated on keeping my eyes on the gravel road in case the glasses had fallen down here. After a while I started to wonder how far it was to the other junkyard that had been my last stop. In my memory it had only been a very short distance.

There I couldnīt find my cycling glasses (pretty good and expensive ones which adapt the reflection grade of the glasses according to the amount of light available). I thoroughly searched within my backpack in the pouring rain but couldnīt find them. I was pretty sure that I still had them when I made that previous stop. but I also could have lost them while cycling. I jumped on my bike to cycle back.
