Finisterre-2020-123h

This is a nice little beach town with a good infrastructure of parking lots close to the beach, toilets and showers, a surf school and a few restaurants. I decided not to park closest to the beach but instead use the parking at the chapel, where I also could spend the night. It´s just a few hundred additional meters down to the sea from here and the chapel is very nice. Bit more quiet up here too and all in all a wonderful place to park the van and let it rest for the day.

The wind was a light sideshore here and the waves smaller, maxing at hip high. Despite a quite promising reef plate the waves weren´t running very well, but they were surf-able. I paddled out in the evening and had a few waves before the sun set. I finished the day with some noodles and a beer and a nice view from my living room.

Saturday, September 12th

I got up before sunrise, had a quick coffee and paddled out at dawn. The wind was offshore and it was quite chilly. The tide was low and waves were about hip-high and soft, but quite well organized by the reef.
