When we arrived at El Muelle there was a good bunch of people celebrating us and our “heroic” action. Over the years people have got aware of the doors we had opened for tow in surfing on te Canary Islands. Afterwards it was chatting with all the boys, having breakfast and later enjoying the dinner at Costa Norte.

My impression is that this event has opened us doors to continue doing tow in despite the difficulties that we get from all sides, the restrictions from the public ports against using installations that we all have paid for, the lack of economic and logistic support and knowing that the only help we get is the moral support of our friends .

We have accomplished that surfing once has made it into local newspapers, we managed to bring it into television, but, most important , that people from here and from outside the islands have met for a spectacle that only happens a few times a year and had fun together. We managed to break the myth that El Bravo is wave wave that can not be ridden with that size. We got great support from the ministy of sports of Puerto de la Cruz. Together with them we made it possible that a group of surfers and fans could spend some special days which helped us to learn a lot.

My vision for the future is getting enough economical support to set up a tow in school. Because tow in, even when practised in waves not that big, at least help catching smaller waves that before were considered unsurfable.

Thanks to all, La Santa Surf, the ministry of sport, Seis, our friends, Duncan and Paul for making the effort of coming over here. Gracias!

The organizers of the SantaTow-inBig Session want to thank all the people who were here, following and supporting us all day to enjoy a good session of tow in. We also want to thank the ministry of sports of Puerto de la Cruz, for their great support to that new initiative (which was not easy to understand), to the crew of the hotel Sol for their warm welcoming and cooperation, to the restaurant Costa Norte for that splendid dinner, to Paul and Duncan and especially to the local surfers who gave everything and more to make this happen. Muchas gracias a todos!
