But at least for some of the riders there was some work to be done, the first official Round Necker Island race, quite a challenge with a decent upwind leg, a shallow reef, some swell on the windward side and windless patches on the leeward side of the island.

Andre Phillip decided to ride strapless and was quite glad that he somehow managed to hold on to his gear, finishing 3rd, while the young guns Sander Lenten and Madison Vheurck battling it out for the top spot, with Madison taking the win in his first race ever..not a bad way to start of a racing career. And 33min for 2 laps around the islands will be a time that is hard to beat in the years to come..

There was more than racing on the agenda, with an impromptu High Jump contest, judged by the guests of Necker island, with a whole box of precious Necker Champagne as a price. No wonder why Shannon Best was highly motivated to take the honours and the champagne, teasing the rest of the fleet over the radio for the rest of the week with the daily announcement of another bottle being opened..
After a more than decadent lunch with Sushi served on floats in the pool the Kitejam flotilla made their way over to Anegada, a very special island on the outer edge of the BVIs. Due to the fact that the highest point on this long stretched island is only about 8m above sea level you notice this stretch of coral and sand just before you hit it. The Anegada Reef Hotel with its sandy dance floor was the spot for some serious partying, with the bright & tight motto setting the pace for some tight & bright action.
