The night from Tuesday to Wednesday was the first that gave me a halfway steady sleep. So I left for the Baltic Sea Wednesday morning. But already the drive on the motorway made me really tired and at some point I pondered about turning and getting back home and into bed. But the wind making the trees alongside the motorways bow pretty far down made me keep going. So I reached my destination at ten.

The first view on the sea showed a few lines rolling in well-shaped by the side-offshore wind. At a different ocean this place might be sort of a reverse J-Bay but in the shallow waters of this side of the Baltic Sea it lacked – like so often – THE half meter to make it even surf-able. At least most of the time, because every 20 minutes a surf-able set came by.

But 20 minutes are a pretty long waiting-time and so I spent the morning with checking, walking back to the van, checking again and a great portion of indecision. This especially as every check-walk brought my circulation to its limits. Not the best condition to paddle out and wait 20 minutes for a wave while paddling against the current.
