When I was back at the beach there was still no wind and the sun had warmed up the air nicely. I was a bit cold from my session and was very grateful for this and the Galao and Natas, that I got at the beach bar of the campground behind the breakwater.

I hung out at the beach enjoying the warmth and the bright light for some more time and then left to head further north. On the motorway my controls gave me another alarm about an engine failure which I dealt with by having a stop at a service station along the motorway. The stop was just for a few minutes but obviously long enough to “heal” the engine because as I restarted it there were no more alarms. I started to get used to this and generally ignore it, despite the alarm releasing a penetrant acoustic signal every 60 seconds.

Just after dark I reached the outskirts of Porto and drove down to the mouth of the river Douro and after some searching found a campground to spend the night. Once settled down here I checken my messages and learned that my buddy had to cancel his flight to Porto because his whole family was sick. I nevertheless decided to spend the following day in Porto and see if this beautiful city had changed since the last time I´ve been here about 20 years ago.
