On some sites I could spot a time slot with strong winds from the southeast. That was supposed to happen during the night from Monday to Tuesday. Just a few hours, but with pretty strong winds blowing across a remarkable fetch of Baltic waters.

Most swell models didnīt transfer this into any relevant swell. Just the trusty Dane dared to predict some movement on the ocean surface, when choosing the right settings on the parameters. But naturally the windswell coincided with winds from the same direction at the coast that I was thinking to go. Onshore windswell together with onshore winds. A Baltic Sea classic that I still canīt find too much joy within.

But then I remembered that someone keeps telling me about how much better the surf in this part of the Baltic Sea is compared to the parts I know from home. Plus there was a chance of leftover swell and the wind turning back to southwest aka offshore in the early Tuesday morning. Had no idea how long this time slot of swell plus no wind or even offshore would last here. But the fetch was quite long, so there was a chance to score offshore………. No, this is unthinkable. But I felt adventurous and decided to give it a go.

So I started the van and headed east.
