When I was finished, I walked over to the cape to check what´s going on there. The wind had turned north now and was not very strong and the waves were quite good here. Even for guys on longboards. I now regretted not having paddled here out on smaller days to get a feeling for the place. The current combination of swell size in combination with the jagged rocks looming underneath the cliff and just underneath the sea surface did not seem appropriate to me for a first-time session here.
So, I walked back to Mini Capo and found it much less crowded, probably because the waves had dropped a bit in size here. I grabbed the opportunity and paddled out for another session. For a while it was just four guys out with still the odd fun-sized set. I had a good session until late in the afternoon when it got more crowded again and I left the arena.
There was just enough daylight time left to walk over to the cape again and see smaller but no even better sorted waves brake during a beautiful sunset. That was a nice finish to a beautiful day.
